What happens if your child is ILL

We will administer medicines that have been prescribed by a doctor, and only if they need to be given 4 times a day. Parents must come to the office with the medicine, and sign a medical consent  form giving us the authority to do so.

When your child is admitted to school, you will be given an admission form which allows you to list any health problems your child may have. This makes school aware of any potential problems and enables us to deal with them, should they occur during the school day.

If your child starts to feel unwell at school we will try to make them comfortable until we are able to contact you. It is important that you tell us if you change address or telephone number and to give us an emergency contact so that we can reach you as soon as possible. If a teacher is concerned about a child, they will always be seen by our trained First Aiders.

Please remember that, if your child is unable to attend school because of illness, let us know either by ‘phoning or sending a message before 9.30am. You may find the following information useful:
